Volunteers across Frontiers China
| Volunteers across Frontiers was the first EVS project to use Equilitri as a tool for mentoring. Volunteers across Frontiers brought together 3 Romanian sending organisations: CADDRU Romania, OSA (Arad Students Organisation) and Chance for Life Foundation with 3 Chinese hosting organisations: Tong De House Keeping Centre, Bei Du Xing Social Centre and Yang Ai – Special Children Parent’s Club.
The project aimed at overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers among youngsters using Non Formal Education methods and instruments. 10 EVS volunteers plus 3 support personnel from Romania worked with children aged 6 to 20, with different needs, such as ADHD or intellectual disabilities from the three hosting NGOs using approximately 50 Non Formal Education activities. Special thanks should go to the organizing team, Sylvia Bixia Xian, Silvia Ghioc, Marian Ancuta, Larissa Feng, Su Qiaoping. One of the results of the project was a Toolkit for youth workers working with groups where there is no common language spoken. It contains over 30 games and activities that require no language knowledge: Non Formal methods for no-common-language contexts
