Press Release
C.A.D.D.R.U – The Assistance Center for Sustainable Development of Human Resources is organising the workshop „The Learning Games” in Timisoara, Romania, between 27th of July – 2nd of August 2014, with support from the European Commission, by Lifelong Learning Programme – Grundtvig,
The workshop’s aim is to transfer innovative pedagogical approaches, methods and tools in adult education with a view to improve existing practices.
„The Learning Games” is a methodology & know-how transfer workshop on the Alternate Virtual Reality (AVR) method adapted to adults with literacy problems, which is part of the Equilitri Method. AVR is a new approach to teaching that „makes use of game-thinking and game mechanics in a non-game context in order to engage users and solve problems”. The entire programme of the workshop is built on an Alternative Reality environment, to facilitate immersion and a proper understanding of the method.
The workshop responds to the need of adult literacy teachers, tutors and trainers, counselors or career advisors for advanced tools and methods of teaching that can improve the motivation and participation of such adults in the learning process. It is attended by 12 participants, from 9 countries (Portugal, France, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria and from Romania)
„The Learning Games” workshop will be facilitated by international trainers with over 15 years of experience and over 200 trainings delivered across the globe.
