imProve-emPower Poland
The training course “ImProve – EmPower” took place in Olsztynek, Poland from 10-16th of November 2014.
This project was for 27 youth workers, volunteers and youth leaders from 9 countries: Portugal, Romania, Greece, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Croatia, Latvia and Poland.
The Journey focused on how to implement an innovative, non-formal education method for professional and personal development called “Equilitri Method™”. This project’s goal was to develop the capacity of the promoting organisations to motivate and improve their volunteers through Personal and Professional Development.
The project improved the promoters by providing the youth-workers with advanced HR tools for professional and personal development and key competencies in four major areas: goal setting, motivation, self-development, planning and organizing and time and financial management.
The methods applied during the training were based on the non-formal approach: debates, simulation games, alternate virtual reality, role play, small group work, working in pairs, practical exercises, all part of the Equilitri Journey. All the activities and the working methods focused on participants’ needs.
There were as well new partnerships established in order to create new projects within Erasmus+ Programme based on the participants’ interests.
Some of the activities during the social time of the training course were the cultural evenings, the presentation of the participants’ organization, various energizers and karaoke night.
The trainers were Teolin Codreanu from Romania and Joanna Rybacka-Barisic from Poland, who very efficiently managed to guide us through all this process by assisting us to get our own hands dirty and find the solutions or the answers that best fitted to our needs and desires.
Testimonies from some of the participants:
Mikołaj, Poland:
I learned a lot thanks to the people around! Different perspectives, different feelings and different languages! I’m definitely more open now! Thank you!
Eleni, Greece:
It was an unexpected, revealing and constructive experience; it made me realize, confess thus refresh my ideas and way of thinking.
Olga, Poland:
Equilitri journey was an amazing experience for me. Using helpful tools like radial analysis I realized where I am in my life now and where I want to be. It changed my perception of achieving the goals. It is a good starting point for all of those who want to explore personal development.
Ramazan, Turkey:
First of all it was fun. Nothing more nothing less. I think I got some experience from this TC. next time I’ll try to be more participative and have more benefit. I was a bit depressive before this TC so i’ll change it after this TC. i’ll start making plan. I developed my intercultural skills here.
Özkan, Turkey:
It was fine to see all those personal development tools together. It is a nice collection. I noticed that I need to be alone to make plans as being i am not a good team worker
Valeria, Italy:
This experience has been very interesting and full of useful information. I’m more motivated to begin to build my idea of business.
Hanna, Latvia:
In a society where we all get trained to follow the plans that others create for us, it is a relief to meet people whose aim it is to support me in who I am and what I want to do. We all know those quotes: “Follow your dreams!”, “believe in yourself!”, but in the rest of our lives nobody ever teaches us how to follow our dreams, and how to actually achieve what we want to do.
Here I met trainers that really encouraged us. That gave us the hand that would help us crawl out of the bog of self-doubt.
I learned how to defend my dreams, I learned from where I can seek motivation in the dark dreams, and what I especially liked was that all activities were underlined with scientific research information and statistical numbers. That made the difference to the usual empowering quotes. The balance between all was what truly empowered me.
Lidia, Spain:
Coming to Poland was one of the best decisions I made because it has set a point where I can start to really develop what I always wanted to do but I was too scared to start working on it. It made me realize that being scared or procrastinating is not useful at all and that wishing something could be enough to make it happen. It wouldn’t have happened without the amazing people who were here with me.
Cristina, Romania:
I have never thought that in a small village in Poland I will find almost all the methods and answers , in 7 days, for what I was looking from for many years. Well, the methods and answers are not in a small or large village anywhere :). They are in Equilitri Journey that was happening here. Next Journey might happen next to you. Do not miss it. What did it change for me? The ways that I will search for other seminars or conferences. If they will sell me secrets, I will not attend.
This experience has been very interesting and full of useful information. I’m more motivated to begin to build my idea of business.
Jose, Portugal:
I had a really good experience where I could learn about the Equilitri project and method, meet very interesting and inspiring people that are looking to help change themselves and those who they work with. I will, in the future, probably look back at what I’ve heard and saw and rethink things I’ve done and predicted their future.
I have a lot to think about, to analyse, to put into perspective, to remodel maybe.
Snjezana, Croatia:
It was useful to participate in the Equilitri Journey project ImProve-EmPower. Its peculiarity is that it encompasses all areas of life and explains how to successfully coordinate and bring them into balance. I must admit that so far I have not succeeded about that, and this is what for I would like to thank Coach Teolin Codreanu.
I’ve changed my view on the category of time, and the value of the time. After training I’ll know to appreciate this resource, do plans and manage time and priorities. Discovering the path to the best “you” is the Journey that calls Equilitri.
Piero, Italy:
Very nice and useful! It gave me more energy and motivation.
Fatbardh, Italy:
This journey was very important for me. This was the second time that I have a connection with Equilitri. I will turn back at home with clearer ideas of what I have to do in my life in the next years and which are my priorities. I hope to have the possibility to go deeper in this thematic. Thanks for these days.
Ramazan, Turkey:

Adriana, Romania:
It was an intense week during which I had the opportunity to discover many tools that I will use in the future for my self-development (to discover and improve my self and my efficiency) and working with others.
Firstly, it made me look from another perspective to things that I take for granted daily, and secondly, and the most important it motivated me to improve, to realize the path is walkable, you just need to take the first step.
Gordana, Croatia:
It was very useful to participate in a project. Coaches Joanna and Teoline have invested such a lot of energy to pass their knowledge to us. I got some answers to my questions. I think that method Equilitri will help me to be financially independent.
Nikola, Croatia:
My experience in this project is surprising because this is my first international project where everything is happening in English language. I believe that everything would be different if I was not surrounded by many young, clever and funny people. Teolin has a calming and inspiring energy with which to absorb new skills easier. I’m happy because I know new people from different cultures and countries. In the end I feel better and I’m glad I could take part in such a good project.
Ciprian, Romania:
It was amazing! Got a lot of useful information in a friendly environment. Hope I will be in contact with equilitri moving forward. Now I am less judgmental, more focused and have a clear map to my objectives.
Jordi, Spain:
I want to say that my personal experience in this project is really great, it is the first time that I participate in an ERASMUS+ program, so I think that this is the best way to start on it. Like the group, that we meet together from other countries and finishing with all the new methods to analyze our lives thanks to Teolin. The days that we stay in Poland were great.
I learnt about the Triquetra with the three meanings that all the course are around (ASK / AIM / ACT) and all the activities on it (The Equilitri Compass). Methods to improve our lives and our personal time management, projects, activities, tasks, personal analytic, life questions (who I am, what I need, what I want), biggest priorities, self-assessment, balance, and values. Methods that can be used to manage our lives when the goals are unclear.
Equilitri improved my self-assessment to evaluate myself, define my goals, improve my management, and make a photo of me today (15/11) at 16:37 h in POLAND, and where I want to arrive in a short/long future with all the methods that I learn here. Help too with all the back support that we received in this week with skills about ME (EMOTIONAL / PHYSICAL / LUDICAL) and the RADIAL ANALYSIS and time-management with a set up for financial forecasting and emotional expenses.
Antonio, Portugal:
This training course “Equilitri” gave me some tools to reflect about myself, in personal and professional level. Good methods to develop personal action plan in correct direction.
